Harvey's + ourcitylights Holiday Bucket Commuter Bag Giveaway

Harvey's Bags is a regular around this blog. I love working with them, I've loved their bags for years and with their new holiday collection release, we've teamed up for a giveaway! They have beautiful colors this season- neutral like army green to bright colors like violet with clever names like Wanderer, Camper and Commuter. I have the Bucket bag in the Park Hopper Nightmare Before Christmas. It holds a lot, but it's still light enough to carry, and I love how I can make it a messenger style or sling over my shoulder like a traditional purse. Thankfully, it looks nothing like a traditional purse. It's fun, polished and still keeps it's shape and shine after heavy use. Just a reminder Harvey's will also restore and wash your bag for a fee starting at $20. They also have kept all their bags vegan friendly.

Star Wars Reads Day + A Giveaway (Closed!)

Oct 10th is Star Wars Reads Day, a global event where retailers, libraries, bookstores and all readers alike combine forces (heh!) in honor of Star Wars literature. I'm looking forward to the movie and it comes out December 18, and that gives me enough time to re-watch and catch up on all the movies. I'm also excited for the merchandise coming out. Yes, I'm that sucker that will buy anything with the licensed logon on it. I've seen a few collaborations and one of my favorites so far is the Cover Girl set. I think I've visited every CVS/Walgreens/Target in the Orange County area trying to get my hands on it a couple weeks ago. Now that I have, it's the perfect opportunity to give it away to a lucky reader and Star Wars fan. I know there are good handful of you out there!

What You Win: $52 worth of Cover Girl/Star Wars make up and one copy of the YA Star Wars book, Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens Lost Stars

Who Can Win: US only, sorry!

When: Giveaway starts right now and ends in 7 days, Oct 15th

How You Can Win: Since this giveaway is meant for readers of this blog, I'll go by the honor system and trust when you enter you're becoming a new reader, already are a blog follower, or follow elsewhere (Instagram, Tumblr, etc.) I'm trying to grow my readership and hoping to find a community of women who love Star Wars, books and makeup (what a perfect combo of a giveaway, right?)

Fill out the form below to enter. Your email will never be shared and as soon as the giveaway is over and winner has been confirmed, I'll delete your information. Good luck!

Update! Giveaway is closed! Thanks everyone for entering!

Simpsons for MAC Giveaway

I wasn't allowed to watch The Simpsons growing up, I think that's one of the reasons why I love it so much now, it's a bit of rebelliousness planted deep. Earlier this month, MAC released their Simpsons for MAC collection in honor of their 25th anniversary and it's amazing! Now, not only do I get to watch The Simpsons as an adult, I get to wear them on my face (as weird as that sounds). It highlights Marge, the queen of side eye.

Every year I try to do a fun giveaway to thank devoted readers. Because of you, this giveaway happened. I'm sincerely grateful to keep this blog and awesome blog content for free thanks to affiliate links and partnerships (you can read more about them here). They not only provided this giveaway but they also provide for my family, what a dream come true. THANKS!

- Marge Simpson's Nail Cuticles nail decals

- That Trillion Dollar Look eyeshadow quad

- Marge's Extra Ingredients eyeshadow quad

- Tinted Lipglass in Red Blazer

- Pink Sprinkles powder blush

- Lash 7 faux lashes

HOW TO ENTER: Since it's illegal to ask for a "like" or "follow" to enter a giveaway, I'm just going to go with the good nature of people and hope already follow along. And just like my friend Kate says, "please, none of this follow-and-leave as soon as the giveaway is over jazz.. that's super rude!" Yes, Kate it certainly is. There are options to follow in the Rafflecopter entries (again, not mandatory, just trying to be cool about it but you and I both know I'd love it).

Where The Magic Happens for Harveys (plus a giveaway! NOW CLOSED)

Being an adult has it's perks sometimes. I pay my bills on time and I get to buy what I wanted as a kid. When I was 18, I got a job at Nothing Shocking, a small but cool piercing and apparel shop in Orange County. When I stacked Harveys bags in the shop, I remember thinking I'd never own one, it was too expensive. Now I have a fun collection in my closet. Everything always comes full circle and now I had a chance to design my own custom bag with them. The design process was fun, and since I was working with only one design, the hard choices were the colors. I went with something I can wear all the time, and yes, there's a surprise of pink in the lining.

Of course there's pink on it. The bias is pink, so when it gets full and stretches out, the pink pops out.

The Streamlined Tote is versatile. The few days I've had a chance to use it, it's survived being packed with groceries, library books, photography gear and just my general everyday Mary Poppins bag I carry with me. You can check out more of the bag here!

Ok so before you wonder how much I was paid for "sponsored" Harveys post this week, I wasn't. And it's not sponsored. Working with Harveys was something I've been wanting to cross off my blogger bucket list (yes that's really a thing). Not only did I get to tour the factory and meet Dana and the design team, but I had the opportunity to design my own custom bag (the more I say, it still sounds as cool as the first time). The 18 year kid in me is over the moon. I've always loved the bags but now I have a new agenda for using them. After touring the factory and checking out behind the scenes, my bag isn't just a bag. It's an idea to something bigger, and it made a journey *cue the cheesy background music* But seriously, there's a new found respect for Harveys and I'm so grateful to be a small part of it (ok, like really small but just let me have this moment).

Apparently "Good Looking" is a skill required on your resume to work at Harveys.

Thanks again to Harveys for the giveaway!

StickyGram Giveaway

I've been collaborating with StickyGram for some time and they've grown from being known as Instagram photos on high quality magnets. Now they're growing their brand and have reached out to make phone and tablet cases. I'm lucky to be one of the first people to test it out and I love them!  They are the éclat of Instagram- one of the first companies to create something with the photo sharing site and this is a big step up from being on our fridge to being on our daily used electronic devices.

I was asked to review these products in exchange for a review. Since I have a relationship with StickyGram, I want to support them as much as I can and agreed. Just like I'm honest in all my reviews, this is no different.

I chose three iPhone 5 covers and they fit my 5S really well. To make the covers was really easy, the hard part was choosing! You can design it any way you'd like in collages, stacked, or even one photo. I chose three different themes- floral, Merry and Scott wanted one for his phone and he chose his favorite ones, too. I chose a food theme for my iPad mini since I use it in my kitchen the most. There are more photos here if you want to check them out. This isn't a case for heavy duty, but considering how lightweight they are, the quality is great and doesn't add any bulk to my phone. However, if you drop your phone all the time, this isn't a case for that. For me, the personalization outweighs any bulky case and that's why I love these. The detail is great! I love telling people about Merry or showing off my prettiest Instagram pics.

This is a great addition to Stickygram, I can't wait to see how they grow the company more. You can make your own here or you can enter below for a chance to win a case!

If you can't see the giveaway entry, enter HERE. Good luck! This is open to international readers, and will be open for 7 days. Winner will be contacted by email. If the winner doesn't reply within 7 days, I'm choosing another one. Thanks!

Sponsored Giveaway- $50 Credit to CAPow Art & Design

Yep, this is a sponsored giveaway but don't worry, it's a brand I 100% support, love and recommend!

I'm so excited to work with Crystal from CAPow. I've followed her on Twitter for a few years and so happy to share her work with you! She is generous to giveaway $50 worth of credit to her shop. This is open to all worldwide readers (be sure to read her policies on timeline of shipping).

Her shop is filled with typography love, literally. I never imagine maps and candy to be such a great combo, but Crystal makes it work beautifully. These would make great gifts- to send to a loved one, to show where you took your honeymoon, or like I used it, I build a special Anaheim section with her OC map

She also has Margo and Richie prints, which I've blogged about here

It as hard to choose a favorite, but I have to say the watercolor maps are my favorite. These are hand painted!! Most of my art at home is printed but to have something actually handmade is a delight.

Good luck to you! (if you can't see the embedded code below, click here to enter)

Gadchick Everpurse Giveaway

In case you're new here, I have a fun project called Gadchick. It's a blog and themed magazine devoted to gadgets, software and the tech life to make our lives easier. After much thought over the past few weeks, Gadchick is going to change around a bit. I'm eliminating the theme part of the magazine, the magazine will come out more often (let's start with one for now at least) and the blog will still have great giveaways, wish lists, and reviews. I'm also going to be looking for sponsors. If you're a geeky blog or shop that is interested in advertising with Gadchick, email me

To kick off the new changes, Mandy, one of our contributing editors, is hosting a great giveaway on her blog, Chocolate Cream and Cake. We reviewed the Everpurse on the Gadchick blog, a purse that charges your phone! I know you will want to win one for yourself. Enter the giveaway here and good luck!

Projecteo Giveaway!

I'm slowly starting to get back into some normalcy, and I know blogging will help me get there. To kick this off, I teamed up with Projecteo. They were nice enough to also offer 5 readers to win a personalized wheel.

To enter is easy!

1. Find this post on Facebook and share it.

2. Like this Instagram photo and follow @projecteo

3. Post a photo you would use for Projecteo on Instagram and hashtag it with #projecteolights. We would love to see what photo you would use!

Jenna Hipp Nail Set Giveaway

I was in Costco the other day (my motherland) and I discovered Jenna Hipp hand cream. I'll admit I only picked it up for the packaging, but it was mostly because it was eco-friendly and budget friendly. Jenna Hipp claims to be the "green nail stylist in Hollywood" and it peaked my interest. I loved the toxic free hand cream and went back for the nail polish set. It's 5 Free nail polish (meaning no Dibutyl Phthalate, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene, or Camphor toxic ingredients).

After trying them out, I loved them, I went back to Costco (again!) to buy you another hand cream set and nail polish set. It reminded me of Scotch nail polishes, another toxic-free polish but the Jenna Hipp polishes lasted a few days longer. The colors are a semi-matte but with a top coat, you'll get the shine you want. The only thing I wish it had was a longer brush for more control. It's not even a complaint, considering how well these did for the price and reputation.

How is this giveaway possible? Over the past few months, I've used affiliate links to introduce products I love and this my way of saying THANKS! This is my own giveaway and not at all associated with Jenna Hipp or Costco (ah, I wish). Enter below!
