I didn't grow up in the playlist generation, I grew up in an era where albums were actual CD's. There was no iTunes, youtube, no rdio, or spotify, if I loved a song but hated the rest of the record, I was stuck with it and wasted my money. Now, I'm a lifetime member of streaming music services. No longer will I have to purchase an album, let alone a song. I love buying vinyl, but digital storage is finally an option, and not a must. There's nothing worse than having to stock up on hard drives or losing music on your computer- it's all able to stream now thanks to new music services. For $10 a month (or free on your desktop), I get to do what I love most- listen to an unlimited amount of music.
My favorites right now are all streaming on Rdio.
Get Better by Lemuria (basically anything on Asian Man Records has my musical heart).
Of All Things I Will Soon Grow Tired by Joyce Manor
The Loft Sessions by Bethel Music
The only downfall to streaming music? The licensing is limited and old favorites such as Emma Wallace are not there. I've requested it various times, but if an artist isn't on a label, it's not allowed.
What are you listening to lately?
